Tyrone defender Cathal McCarron is a doubt for Saturday's All-Ireland SFC Qualifier clash with Meath at Croke Park.

McCarron suffered a dead leg in the closing stages of last weekend's win over Kildare at Newbridge, and had to be substituted.

The player has had ice administered on the knock and is receiving ongoing treatment.

Tyrone otherwise have a clean bill of health, with skipper Stephen O'Neill having come through with no adverse reaction from an Achilles problem which had kept him out of the games against Offaly and Roscommon.

"There's nothing major, just bangs and bumps. Everybody has come clear fairly clear. It's about recovery this week," added team trainer Fergal McCann

The Red Hands are bidding for a first ever championship win over the Royals, having lost their two previous meetings in 1996 and 2007.
